We tore through the first two season of the excellent, dark, well written and even better directed series… now we’re waiting for season 3 to hit the shelves. Based on the ending to season 2 (no spoiler here), it looks like the story picks up right at the point of departure (get it?) and continues on down the spiraling road of Walt’s life. Fascinating show and we’re looking forward to the twists and turns yet to be experienced in the up-coming story. If only they would burden me with the release date… what is it coming out?!

It’s no secret I enjoy visual entertainment. I watch the odd movie in the theater, have a proud and diverse selection of movies in my top-10, and even hit the shallow end of pop culture by tip-toeing through shows like Survivor-Umpteenth and American Idolicious. However, few shows have captured my attention like Breaking Bad.

In its third season on AMC, Breaking Bad is acted with perfect realism, has inventive and engaging dialog (read: writing), and is pushed to the screen with intense emotion and on-point direction. Though I’ve also seen the first two seasons, Breaking Bad has become one of my all time favorite television shows. Set in the southwest, Breaking Bad (no spoiler here, these revelations are exposed in episode one of season one) is a story about a high school chemistry teacher who falls on hard times and begins cooking the purest, most perfect form of crystal meth seen in recent history. The story winds around his troubles, disasters, self-discoveries, and all-out drama that seems to dog his every step.

A true drama, Breaking Bad is the classic edge of your seat production model where each episode is perfectly balanced and hooks the viewer into the next. Of the people I’ve talked to about the show, many have heard “good things” about it but few have actually seen it. Take my advice: rent the first disk of season 1 and drink in all the goodness (and foulness) that is Breaking Bad. You won’t be disappointed.
