I’m new to the whole overclock-your-system thing. I’ve done some reading and found it to be pretty simply on the new Conroe E6700. So simple, in fact, decided to give it a try. But before having a go, I downloaded the free version of 3DMark05 and ran a baseline benchmark so see how things stacked up. I pulled a score of 14,383 which is pretty respectable. However, after a very small overclock; moving the base operating speed from 2.73Mhz to 3.02Mhz, I ran the test again and was shocked at the results.
