0-2 with Nikon Lenses

So we purchased a Nikon D40X in the fall of last year. Great camera, has been taking fabulous shots with it ever since. Truth be told, the camera is a little over my head but I’m working on learning the abundant features. Got it in a combo deal with two lenses, a bag, some odds and ends. Quite a nice bit of kit and all for a reasonable price. But not so fast…Took the camera with us to England during the Great Vacation of ‘08 and was taking pictures like a tourist. iPhone Conversion…

One thing which I was looking forward to while away was the release of the iPhone 3G. I carefully watched the first release, heard rave reviews and decided I would let my Verizon contract expire with the intent to move to AT&T and purchase an iPhone. I didn’t take that move lightly. Oh, one more thing, they have no stop signs in England. Intersections are mostly handled by round-abouts. Not the US version with strict lanes of travel as you drive around the circle. No, wide open round-abouts which leave drivers to work out their troubles and right of...

Excellent Vacation

We just got back from our much needed vacation which consisted of several flights, two countries, and many souvenirs. I won’t bore you with the details, suffice to say we had a great time. Here’s a quick thumbnail of the trip. We arrived in Heathrow Airport, London, England and were met by friends. After catching up on a little sleep, we began our day-trips into London. We saw all the main sights including the London Eye (fascinating). After three days of training into London, we picked up the rental car and took off to tour the countryside without any predetermined plans. We had no rooms...
